Last year, Techno-Classica Essen attracted 200,000 visitors, making it the most visited classic car trade fair in the world. And this year, too, there is a wide range of attractions.
With their appearances, the car manufacturers will demonstrate the importance they attach to the classic car fair. Over 25 international car manufacturers will be represented. More than 2,500 old and youngtimers will be on sale, more than 220 clubs and IGs will be represented and more than 1,250 exhibitors will present themselves.
These include restorers, suppliers, car literature suppliers, spare parts dealers, accessories sellers, watch and technology dealers, artists and gallery owners, publishers and, last but not least, car model suppliers.
Techno-Classica Essen took place for the first time in 1989. S.I.H.A. organized the first major international classic car show in Germany. Over the last few decades, the aim has been to increase the quality of the event and to keep the momentum going with new ideas.
Special show Grand Prix Monaco 1957
This year, a special show on the subject of the "Grand Prix Monaco 1957" is at the center of the classic car fair. Exquisite racing cars that competed in the 1957 Monaco Grand Prix will be on display. A Ferrari 801, as driven by Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, a Ferrari D 50, a Cooper Climax T43 and a Connaught Alta Type B will be among the exhibits.
Visitors to Techno-Classica Essen can also take a look back into the future - around 120 years ago, the automobile was at a crossroads - just like today. Combustion engine or electric motor? As early as 1900 to 1920, there was an astonishingly high proportion of cars with electric motors - it was not until 1912 that the petrol engine finally began to establish itself in automotive engineering following the invention of the electric starter motor. Other modern electric cars show how the electric motor has gradually become established in automotive engineering in recent times.
There is definitely not too little to see at Techno-Classica Essen this year. Further information can be found on the official website.
