RM Sotheby's has secured a dream collection of modern classics to be offered at auctions in Paris, Amelia Island, Fort Lauderdale and Essen in 2019. The private collection consists of more than 140 vehicles, most of which will be auctioned without a minimum bid. It includes collector's vehicles of European and Japanese brands from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s from the estate of a collector who has been fascinated by these vehicles since his youth.
International origin
The collection covers the entire spectrum of European brands and includes 34 Mercedes, 27 BMW, 12 Rolls-Royce, 11 Bentley, 8 Porsche, 8 Jaguar, 7 Ferrari, 4 Aston Martin as well as vehicles from Renault, Morgan, Audi, Lotus and Lamborghini.
Japanese collector cars include Nissan, Acura, Mazda, Toyota and Mitsubishi models. Cadillac and Chevrolet models will also go under the hammer.
From the Renault 5 Turbo to the AMG Mercedes
"From very early Alpina models to the Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC AMG 6.0 Wide Body, Porsche 928 GTS and Renault R5 Turbo, this collection contains just about every dream car from the 80s and 90s in our 2019 line-up," says Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions at RM Sotheby's.

Auction will take place in the first half of 2019
The approximately 140 vehicles include the following highlights at the individual auctions:
In Paris, over 20 vehicles from this collection are to go under the hammer on February 6, 2019, including:
- BMW Alpina B7 Turbo S from 1982, 58,000 km, part of a group of Alpina models (estimated value €200,000 - €240,000);
- Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC AMG 6.0 Wide Body from 1989, 28,000 km. Top car from a group of Mercedes-Benz Performance models from the late 80s and early 90s (estimated value €150'000 - €200'000);
- Ferrari Superamerica from 2006, one of only 43 models with manual transmission (estimated value €575,000 - €650,000);
- BMW 850 CSi from 1994 (estimated value €140,000 - €180,000);
- Porsche 928 GTS from 1992, as a sought-after manual transmission (estimated value €70,000 - €85,000)
More than 10 vehicles are scheduled for Amelia Island/Florida on March 9, 2019, including:
- Acura NSX (9,200 miles), Toyota Supra (11,200 miles) and Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (2,800 miles)
- Ferrari 575M Maranello from 2004(estimated value €250'000 - €300'000)
- Performance cars from Europe and Japan from the late 80s and early 90s.
At the auction in Fort Lauderdale/Florida on March 29-30, 2019, around 20 more cars will be offered, including
- Sought-after British luxury cars from the 1990s and 2000s, including Bentley, Aston Martin, Jaguar and
- A small group of Nissan 300 ZX examples
Finally, over 80 vehicles will go under the hammer at the Techno Classica in Essen on April 11, 2019, including
- Porsche GT3 RS 3.0 from 2011, with less than 9300 km on the clock (estimated value €150,000 - €175,000);
- Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 from 1994 (estimated value €150,000 - €180,000);
- Pretty much every BMW Alpina and BMW M Performance model imaginable;
- Wanted Mercedes-Benz AMG Performance models from the late 70s to the 90s;
- British luxury cars from Rolls-Royce and Bentley;
- Renault R5 Turbo from 1985 with only 29,000 km mileage (estimated value €80,000 - €90,000) and
- Rare and special Wiesmann GT (€170'000 - €200'000).
