On the weekend of September 1 and 2, 2018, the well-known and extremely popular Oldtimerclassic Hittnau will take place for the 11th time.
Every two years, fans of classic cars, motorcycles and airplanes meet on the road linking the Glattal and Tösstal valleys in the canton of Zurich. The Oldtimerclassic Hittnau cleverly combines the events on the approximately one kilometer long circuit and the grass runway of the natural airport and thus manages to attract many classic car fans, including many families, every time.
The 11th Oldtimerclassic Hittnau is an event with race-like demonstration drives on a closed circuit, which is certainly something special in Switzerland, where circuit races have been banned since 1955. Also unique in Switzerland is the meadow airfield on which take-offs and landings take place over two days. An event with a lot of charm!
Race park
As already mentioned, the Oldtimerclassic Hittnau is not a race, but a demonstration drive.
A wide variety of vehicles will be competing in the categories Battle of the Dwarves, Formula Cars, Porsche, Race Touring Cars, Pre-War Vehicles, Grand Tourismo, Monobikes, Superbikes and Sidecars.
Corso vehicles
The parade of less racing cars is also attractive every time. Again and again, extremely rare classics can be found here. The number of participants is limited to 80 and overtaking is prohibited.
Airplanes and helicopters
"Hittnau International Airport" will be open on September 1 and 2, 2018, with around 80 planes and helicopters taking off and landing on the pasture used as an airfield for two days. They fly laps and park next to the small control tower.
Registration deadline is June 1, 2018.
