A classic car is very different from a modern car. While a vehicle built in 2015 comes to a standstill in 32 meters from 100 km/h, even allows cornering during the braking manoeuvre thanks to ABS and prevents swerving in bends through targeted braking intervention, in an old car the driver alone is responsible for the stability of the car on the road. The technology offered by the old car is much simpler and the driver's skill is much more important. This needs to be practiced and at the beginning of the season, reflexes may be a little rusty.
A driving safety training course, such as the one offered by classic car specialist Goodtimer on May 17, 2015 at the spacious driving camp in Röthis, Vorarlberg, is just the thing.
A maximum of 36 vehicles, accompanied by professional instructors, complete a variety of exercises on dry and wet roads throughout the day.
Safe braking and swerving with a classic vehicle can be practiced again and again in a safe environment, so that you can prepare for tricky and unpredictable moments on the road. Thanks to the instructive training, participants gain valuable confidence in themselves and their cars.
Elegance also counts
The Goodtimer driving safety training is supplemented by the Cup d'Elégance, which is awarded as a prize for particularly successful achievements.
One-day event
Participants will meet in St. Margrethen from 08:15 on May 17, 2015 and then drive together to Röthis (around 20 minutes away). The exercises will only be interrupted by a sumptuous lunch buffet, and at 16:30 you can start your journey home.
At CHF 385.00, the costs are kept within reasonable limits and are significantly lower than in the event of an accident, which could perhaps be avoided with the training. Last places are still available, it has as long as it has ...
