The magazine with the name Vintage Times is on newsstands for the first time, with "Issue 1, June - August 2015" at the bottom of the cover. The new Swiss magazine brings style and vintage into the lives of its readers and now reports four times a year on fashion and beauty in retro style, exciting news from the world of vintage cars and pin-ups and on blues, rockabilly, whisky, wine and cocktail culture at its finest.
The first issue
On almost 100 pages, the first issue tells the story of Zoe Scarlett and the art of seduction, shows summer fashion to dream about and reports on the Corvette C1, the Ford V8 and Ford Model A as well as the legendary Ford Mustang and explains the cylinder in a short technical section.
Passionately sporty Corvette C1
Inspired by the British Jaguar, Chevrolet developed the first American sports car and the first-generation Corvette was launched in 1953. The history of the creation and development of the Corvette C1 is told in about two pages of text and presented using the example of its appearance in the movie "Rum Diary".
Mustang: The first pony car
Ford's first pony car was launched in 1964 and exceeded all expectations: Over one million Mustangs were sold in just two years. Ford thus set a new record. Vintage Times takes a look at the history of the first pony car.
Ford V8 and Ford Model A
In each issue, Vintage Times introduces passionate classic car owners. For the first issue, she visited Jakob Grob in Nänikon in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland and talked about his Ford V8 and Ford Model A.
Our impression
The new Swiss magazine has been designed with love and dedication and has selected interesting content for the first issue.
The topics of fashion, beauty and beautiful girls make up the majority of the content in the magazine. So if you're primarily looking for extensive articles about classic cars from that era, you've come to the wrong place. Nevertheless, it is a successful magazine that is definitely worth buying for all vintage lovers, as it allows you to immerse yourself completely in the retro world of that time.
Preview of the next issue
The second issue, which will be published at the beginning of fall, will tell of autumnal glamor, present authentic vintage furniture, show men's fashion with character and feature a portrait of Sylvia Plath. In addition, the Aston Martin theme will set the mood for the new Bond film "Spectre", which will be released this November.
A single issue costs CHF 12.00 and is available at newsstands, online and in selected branches. An annual subscription with four issues per year costs CHF 45.00.
