Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH announces that it will take over parts of the former Kienle Automobiltechnik GmbH in Heimerdingen on February 1, 2024 and integrate them into the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center.
In spring 2023, Mercedes-Benz Group AG merged all Classic activities into Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH in order to further strengthen the Classic division and develop it even more flexibly and dynamically in the future.
In addition to the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center, this includes many other areas: the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Group Archive, the vehicle collection, Mercedes-Benz Classic Genuine Parts, the Mercedes-Benz Classic vehicle dealership and Classic Club Management.
The takeover follows the insolvency of Kienle Automobiltechnik GmbH, which was linked to inconsistencies surrounding duplicate chassis numbers on Mercedes-Benz 300 SL vehicles. Zwischengas reported extensively on this on October 16, 2023, May 31, 2023 and October 31, 2023.
