There really is no lack of variety in Catawiki's premium online auction, which runs until May 8, 2022. Cars from four manufacturing countries are gathered together and there is no shortage of exotic cars that are rarely seen. Here are just a few examples.
Still in its original color is the Maserati Khamsin from 1972, which, with its 4.9-liter V8 engine with 275 hp, can certainly be a lot of fun to drive. The coupé with chassis number AM1200323 is attested to be in good general condition, with an estimated value of EUR 155,000 to 171,000 for the right-hand drive car (rarity), which is located in Belgium.
A Chevrolet Corvette C1 from 1960 with "show condition paintwork" is expected to find a new owner at a much lower price, with an estimate of EUR 81,000 to 89,500 for the convertible in the Netherlands, which is to be sold "as is" with American papers.
The 1948 Lancia Aprilia, which was given an attractive convertible body by Langenthal in Switzerland, is a special body. The car is said to have run in Switzerland until 2013, when it traveled via the Netherlands to the USA and back to the Netherlands. The condition is described as good to very good, but some work is likely to be required. The estimated value for chassis 539-1096 is around EUR 100,000.
The popularity of the sporty BMW models of the seventies is increasing. This is particularly true of the BMW 2002 Tii. Catawiki can offer an example from 1974, which is currently located in Italy (Nereto) and whose condition is described as "very good", for EUR 46,500 to 52,000.
A VW-Porsche 914 from 1974 with a four-cylinder two-liter engine was completely dismantled and refurbished. The extensively restored vehicle with American registration can now be viewed in Belgium (Deurle) and purchased at auction for EUR 43,500 to 47,900. This estimate is certainly at the upper end for a four-cylinder 914, but is still unlikely to cover the cost of the work.
Early Elva are quite rare, and the 1955 Mk 1A is no exception. The car took part in the 1955 Tourist Trophy in Durod, but was involved in an accident that cost the driver Dick Manwaring his life. The car was subsequently rebuilt and the repaired chassis was given a more aerodynamic aluminum body in the style of the Mk1 B models. Under the hood, a Coventry Climax engine provided sporty performance. The car was restored between 1989 and 1994 and has since appeared at many historic racing events including the Goodwood Revival and the Vernasca Silver Flag hill climb. Now EUR 95,000 to 105,000 is expected for the Barchetta, which has not raced for the last four years.
The 1954 Ford Crestline Skyliner with glass roof has also been completely restored. The estimated value is EUR 52,250 to 57,500 and you get an elegant car that is sure to attract interest at the Concours. The car, which is equipped with an automatic transmission, can be viewed in Belgium.
The Austin-Healey 3000 is of course also one of the popular classics, and Catawiki is brokering a Mk1 example from 1962 with a hertiage certificate and body-off restoration that is less than three years old. Stationed in Haarlem (Netherlands), the roadster was estimated at a reasonable EUR 59,500 to 65,500, at the time of reporting it had already been offered for EUR 36,000.
Until May 8, 2022 20:00 you can still bid for the cars listed above, but also for the other cars registered for the auction, including a Ferrari Testarossa, a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Coupé, a VW Bus T1 Samba and a Porsche 911 SC Targa/Cabriolet.
On the Catawiki website, there are extensive descriptions and many photos of the individual vehicles.
