This year marks the eleventh edition of the ADAC Trentino Classic. From September 21 to 25, around 100 historic cars and their 200 drivers and co-drivers will explore the enchanting landscape of Trentino and the northern Lake Garda region. The start and finish of the tour with historic vehicles is the popular vacation resort of Riva del Garda, whose townscape is dominated by the "Torre Apponale". The 34-metre-high tower, which dates back to 1220, is a remnant of the medieval town wall.
550 kilometers with impressive scenery in the Lake Garda region
The hiking tours, which are around 550 kilometers long in total, lead past picturesque river landscapes and along fantastic panoramic roads. A special feature is the lake tour on the fourth day, which takes participants past four impressive lakes, including Lago di Ledro and Lago d'Idro in the Alps.
Rare brands in the field of participants
44 different vehicle manufacturers are represented in this year's field of participants at the ADAC Trentino Classic. Fans of historic cars can look forward to rare brands such as De Tomaso, Facel Vega and Lagonda.
These and other collector's items will be presented on the third day of the classic car tour at the Concorso d'Eleganza in Rovereto, where the vehicles will be assessed by a jury of experts and awarded prizes at the award ceremony on the evening of September 24. The winners can look forward to receiving the Grande Farfalle d'Oro, for example, a butterfly-shaped trophy depicting the outline of the Trentino region.
Deceleration, enjoyment and culture at the ADAC Trentino Classic
It is not the stopwatch that determines the course of the ADAC classic car hike, but deceleration, enjoyment and culture. In order to be successful in the daily rankings, numerous tasks must be solved and questions answered on the four daily tours, which cover a total of over 550 kilometers. In 2004, the participants hiked through Trentino in their historic vehicles for the first time. Since then, the scenic beauty and cultural diversity of Trentino have made the ADAC Trentino Classic one of the ADAC's most popular classic car events. This year's patron of the ADAC Trentino Classic is Hermann Tomczyk, ADAC Sports President, who is also responsible for classic cars at the ADAC.
