The 45th AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix from August 11 to 13 will feature two dozen races, regularity tests and presentations. Vehicles from 70 years of motorsport history will be on display!
New in the program is the race of the "Touring Car Classics" series as well as a regularity test for the racing cars of the DTM, STW and related series. In addition, the Porsche 928 celebrates its 40th birthday with an impressive display of super sports cars. Another jubilarian is Ferrari, the legendary Italian brand turns 70. With the support of the Ferrari Club Germany, a vehicle parade with numerous models will be presented on the Grand Prix circuit.
Historic Paddock Club
The AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix also offers its guests another exclusive experience - in the Historic Paddock Club above the pits you have a direct view of the pit lane. On a backstage tour you can catch a glimpse behind the scenes and on Saturday or Sunday you can even experience a ride in a classic car on the Norschleife, at least if you buy a VIP ticket.
The best of 70 years of motorsport
The race weekend from August 11 to 13 will bring together legendary racing cars from 70 years of motorsport. Starting with the pre-war cars in the Vintage Sports Car Trophy, the ASC Trophy and with regularity tests for sports cars from the 1920s to the 1940s, the event will be reminiscent of the old days.
The premier class of motorsport is also brought back to life - from the historic Grand Prix cars up to 1960 to the Formula 1 cars of the Cosworth era in the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship. The junior classes are also documented with the FIA Lurani Trophy for Formula Junior cars and the races for Formula 3 cars from 1964 to 1984. The fascination of the sports car categories is conveyed by the races for two-seater racing cars and GTs up to 1961 and the FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship.
Traditionally, touring cars and GTs are also represented at the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix: They can be seen in the Stena Line Gentlemen Drivers race and in the AvD Touring Car and GT Trophy. The program will be rounded off by presentations such as the Skoda motorsport history cars and the Motor Klassik Reader's Race.
German touring cars and international guests
Motorsport 'made in Germany' has established itself as a special focus of the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix in recent years. With the revival run of the German DTM and STW racing championships, a journey back in time to the seventies to nineties has already been invited in recent years. This year, races will be held as part of the "Touring Car Classics" for the regularity tests of the "Touring Car Revival".
"We want to revive the flair of the old DTM races," explains co-organizer Ralph Bahr. This motto attracts both active and former DTM and STW racing drivers, which will certainly ensure exciting races.
