In 1996, a long-awaited new sports car series with a famous name appeared with the XK8.
The new model series received a completely new 4-liter V8 aluminum engine (later 4.2 liters). In 1998, the supercharged version of this engine was added, turning the XK8 into the XKR. The top-of-the-range XKR model in particular knows how to combine powerful performance (0-100 in approx. 5 seconds) with plenty of comfort and enough space for a comfortable journey for four. 395 hp and 553 NM of torque ensure superior power reserves in every situation. This is also helped by the CATS suspension, which can adapt to the road surface in milliseconds with adaptive shock absorbers and therefore offers the best contact with the road. This example from a good manufacturer impresses with its classic and elegant color combination in conjunction with an interior upholstered in light-colored leather. The Classic option gives this modern classic fine walnut wood applications on the dashboard, steering wheel and gearshift.
The XKR on offer has a very low mileage of just 61,500 km.
It is a Swiss delivery, all service and repair work was carried out at Emil Frey.
The exterior and interior are in excellent condition. Particularly attractive is the fact that this is the facelift version with the engine enlarged to 4.2 liters and a new automatic transmission with 6 gears.
Overall, the vehicle shows the maturity of its late vintage. The new owner can therefore expect a youngtimer that is fully suitable for everyday use, but by no means an everyday car with the potential to increase in value.
