Oldtimer Galerie Swiss Classic World Auction 2026 - exciting to the end, not only because of a barn-find
As every year, the Oldtimer Galerie Toffen auctioned 55 vehicles, including six motorcycles and a boat, at the Swiss Classic World on May 30, 2026. 41 vehicles were either knocked down directly or "under reserve", with an average price of over CHF 100,000 per vehicle sold. The Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ sold for the highest price, while some of the other cars were disappointing. Ford's second attempt at Le Mans with the GT40
After Ford's problematic but promising debut of the GT40 at the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans - with the clearly formulated goal of beating Ferrari uncompromisingly - Shelby American was brought in to further develop the GT40 technically and eliminate the reliability problems. The result was the GT40 MK 1. One of the cars bulit for this purpose was P1006.
Looking ahead at the time
