On August 5, 2017, the sixth Mustang & Shelby Meeting took place in the bull stables in Zug, where people usually gather once a month for the Classic Car Sunday Morning Meeting. For once, classic cars from all eras and countries did not come together, but only the cars of one brand and even (almost) only one type.

As is well known, the Ford Mustang, built in series from 1964, was launched in April 1964 as a coupé and convertible. Its success was immediate and continues to this day, with over 9.5 million Mustangs sold to date!
A casual get-together
Anyone who owns a Mustang or is interested in these cars felt at home in Zug. Throughout the day, Ford pony cars drove in and out, and food and entertainment were provided at all times.
All generations
The Ford Mustang has been built in six generations to date. The most popular among classic car enthusiasts is of course the first, which was produced in four series between 1964 and 1973 and also became legendary in the movies with appearances in "Bullit" or "Gone in 60 Seconds".

It was therefore no surprise that these models were particularly well represented in Zug, while the second generation (1973 to 1978), the third generation (1979 to 1993) and the fourth generation (1994 to 2004) were rather sparsely represented. Many of the modern models of the fifth and sixth generation, on the other hand, found their way to Zug.
With a special exhibition
In order to bring visitors' knowledge up to date, the organizers had organized a special exhibition of the various generations, so that a second-generation "King Cobra" was also on display.

Presentation of cars and their owners
Throughout the day, individual cars and their owners were introduced to the spectators.

The owners then explained why they had bought that particular model and what connected them to the Mustang. This gave visitors the opportunity to learn and experience a lot and to enjoy a beer and barbecue sausage while looking at the various models.
Entertainment
In general, entertainment was provided, whether it was an American football team delivering some training sessions, their cheerleaders beaming as they cheered on their team, or music from the music stage.

Nobody was bored, and what could be more satisfying for a Mustang fan than strolling past hundreds of classic cars with a wild horse on the radiator grille?
A lifestyle
For most owners, a Ford Mustang is not just a car, but part of an entire lifestyle.

So many fans dress accordingly from head to toe.

Pretty colorful
The classic Ford Mustangs in particular were still delivered in many colors, so the area around the bull stables was correspondingly colorful.

And among the many Ford Mustangs, you could also find one or two exotic cars, such as a Ford GT40, which is known to have been created under the aegis of Carroll Shelby, or a Cobra.

In general, of course, Carroll Shelby contributed a lot to the fame of the Mustang, his versions were not only more powerful, but also a feast for the eyes, something that the car rental company Hertz also took advantage of.
This G.T. 350 H was also on display in several variants, whereby even an inexperienced visitor can quickly recognize that Mustang fans like to invest in conversions and tribute cars, i.e. that there is not always something under the beautiful shell that the appearance would actually suggest.
However, this did not detract from the meeting or the enjoyment of the vehicle owners and spectators, for whom the meeting on August 5, 2017 was a successful event in which the weather largely played along and the worries of everyday life were pushed into the background for once.

If you would like to get an idea of the cars gathered, we recommend the extensive picture gallery . In addition, a picture magic sequence on Zwischengas shows an overview of all the models.
