Lamborghini Flying Star II 1966 - Flying star and final spurt from Touring

It was one of the stars of the 1966 Turin Motor Show and at the same time the swan song of the renowned Carrozzeria Touring with its Superleggera concept: the Lamborghini 4000 GT Flying Star II. The time was not yet ripe for the combination of Gran Turismo and estate car. It was one of the stars of the 1966 Turin Motor Show and at the same time the swan song of the renowned Carrozzeria Touring with its Superleggera concept: the Lamborghini 4000 GT Flying Star II. The time was not yet ripe for the combination of Gran Turismo and estate car. The Lamborghini 350 GT is the very first production Lamborghini to help the agricultural machinery manufacturer with Carrozzeria Touring design and bodywork achieve its breakthrough as a car manufacturer. And with the in-house 12-cylinder front-mounted aluminum engine designed by Giotto Bizzarrini, it becomes a fine Gran Turismo in the spirit of gentleman driver and company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. When you think of Turismo, you inevitably think of taking luggage with you on tour: a sore point with many GTs.
