Ferrari and Pininfarina ventured into series production with the Coupé 250 GT Pininfarina presented in 1958. However, with 353 units built, production remained manageable, but the car also influenced the history of the sports car in other ways. The development story that led to the 250 GT Pininfarina has been told before. So here is just the short version: Enzo Ferrari realized that his sports car and GT customers were thirsting for more comfort so that they could go on longer journeys in style. The successor to the coupé built by Ellena and Boano was launched in 1957, and the two prototypes 0841GT and 0843 GT showed where the road was heading.
