On November 24, 2021, the first Autohalle fireside chat took place with Mario Illien, who told Bruno von Rotz (Zwischengas) about his life and his experiences in engine construction. Part 2 will now follow on February 23, 2022.
Bruno von Rotz will talk to Edi Wyss, the "Swiss Wiz", in the Cigar Lounge of the Autohalle in Andelfingen in the canton of Zurich. Although Wyss was not behind the wheel when Grand Prix, CanAm and sports car victories were clinched, many a sports car and monoposto driver would have been less successful without his active assistance as a racing mechanic and constructor.
What was it actually like back then in the CaAm championship, where almost anything was allowed? What means and aids were used to create the Formula 1 cars of the sixties? And what does it mean to keep one of these historic racing cars in "race ready" condition today? In the fireside chat, Edi Wyss will talk about his life with racing and sports cars and will also be happy to sign his book "The Swiss Wiz".
