On August 19, 2015, the Zurich Classic Car Award will be held for the fourth time in a row on Bürkliplatz in Zurich. It would be hard to find a more central and atmospheric location, as the small park in front of the Swiss National Bank overlooks both Lake Zurich and the famous Bahnhofstrasse.
Tribute to Zagato
For 2015, the organizing committee is once again dedicating a category to a famous coachbuilder, this time paying tribute to Zagato.
Some interesting cars have already been entered, including an Alfa Romeo Giulia Tubolare Zagato from 1963, an Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato from 1973, a Lancia Flaminia Super Sport Zagato from 1966 and an Alfa Romeo ES30 Zagato, but Beat Walti, who is chairing the jury, would also like to see Zagato variants from Lancia, Ferrari, Simca, Bristol, Abarth or Aston Martin. Elegant special bodies
Once again, exquisite one-offs from famous coachbuilders will be on display in Zurich on August 19. Delahaye 135 Saboutchik from 1949 and a Fiat Moretti 850 from 1968 have already been registered.
Also expected are sports car classics such as the Maserati Ghibli SS from 1971, the Maserati 3500 from 1963 with touring convertible bodywork and Japan's first super sports car, the Toyota 2000 GT from 1969.
And when can you get a close-up look at one of the very first Jaguar E-Types, namely the exhibition car from the premiere in Geneva in 1961?
Elegant single-seaters
The monoposto class should also once again offer interesting vehicles. Among others, a Ferrari 625 F1 Squalo from 1956 and a March F3 from 1970 have already been registered.
