For 35 years now, the "Vienna Classic Days" rolling car museum in the heart of Vienna has been a festival of nostalgia, accompanied by emotion and enthusiasm. On August 24-25, 2024, the time has come again: proud owners from all over Austria and many European countries will bring over 200 impressive, mostly historic classic cars to Vienna.
Many of them are over 100 years old and are high-quality cultural assets from the early days of automobile construction. Long-forgotten brands and types, but also many models and manufacturers that bring back memories for the spectators.
Enthusiasm guaranteed
Wherever the more than 100 years of history are presented, there are also enthusiastic spectators. Thousands of them along Vienna's Ringstrasse, the highlight of the weekend, the grand parade along the Vienna Ring, the emperor's boulevard.
Even after so many years, the organizer, the Motor-Mythos team, continues to present new ideas that successfully combine with the old traditions, such as the inner city stage with many hospitality and stops in the area of the most attractive sights. The vintage car picnic on Sunday in the middle of one of the nicest parks is also popular and atmospheric.
Traditionally, not only the popular program points in the middle of the city, but also the stage over Vienna's local mountains, once also popular race tracks, are just as exciting for the participants as they are for the spectators along the route.
Old cars and young drivers pay less
The entry fee is also a very positive idea: The older the vehicle, the lower the entry fee, an additional bonus for young people who have just caught the classic car bug. For participants with a long journey, there is a welcome bonus; every kilometer driven reduces the entry fee.
Enjoyment, hospitality and cosiness, combined with "Viennese charm" characterize the Vienna Classic Days, even though it is now a major event.
With an environmental bonus
The many statistics show that classic cars do no harm to the environment. These cars are driven far too rarely. But the Vienna Classic Days definitely have an "environmental bonus": every item on the program can be easily reached by spectators using public transport.
The joy of the Vienna Classic Days also brings joy to children with whom life is not at all kind. The charity idea for the Lichtblickhof is an important factor here. There are still starting places available for all those who want to take part with a classic or modern classic car. So that everyone has their own personal experience, there are also different classification groups, from sporty to relaxed.
