December is just around the corner and with it the sixth edition of our SwissClassics Revue. Among other things, this issue covers the British car brand/group "British Leyland", which could be celebrating its fiftieth birthday if it still existed, and provides buying advice on the Porsche 356. The Volvo PV 444 is presented as an automotive milestone and two articles look back at the Lignières circuit and the Swiss racing driver Huldreich Heusser.
Other articles deal with the Ford Ghia-Aigle and the tenth anniversary of the Pantheon Basel/Muttenz.
Exotic cars from "British Leyland"
Fifty years have passed since "British Leyland" was founded. For several years, countless vehicles left the various factories in Great Britain. The unconventional body shapes were often ridiculed and the quality criticized, but the technology under the hood was certainly innovative and forward-looking.
Buyer's guide - Porsche 356
The Porsche 356 is robust and technically straightforward, and both the cult factor and the fun factor are very important to it. Perhaps this mix is the reason for its great popularity - and its proud price tag. We investigate the quirks of the first Porsche.
Automotive milestone Volvo PV 444
While the Second World War was still raging in its final stages, the new Volvo was born in Sweden. It was called the PV 444 and offered 42 hp on 900 kg. It was to be the first newly designed post-war vehicle in Europe, as larger numbers were not built until 1947.
Pit stop in Lignières
In 2003, the TCS and its sections landed a coup. They woke the only Swiss circuit from its slumber, i.e. from bankruptcy. Fifteen years later, you rub your eyes when you set foot on the site. The Circuit de Lignières - as it has always been called by friends - has never looked so beautiful. It was built with plans that dared to strike a balance between a modern event center, driver training and pure emotion. So it's high time to do a few laps of the historic track again and talk about the new "Amis de Lignières".
The four-time Gabelbach winner and his tragic end
To mark the 90th anniversary of the death of Swiss racing driver Huldreich Heusser, we are dedicating an article to him that highlights his greatest racing successes as well as his tragic end. Heusser won the Gabelbach race four times and always went all out.
The mysterious Ford Ghia-Aigle model
The history of many cars is well known and documented, but for some models this is not so easy. This is also the case with the Ford Ghia-Aigle. This one-off is absolutely unique and combines influences from a wide variety of models in one. SwissClassics took a close look at it.
