The major classic car fair Auto e Moto d'Epoca opens its doors in around a month's time. Online ticket sales are already open on the event's website. From October 21 to 24, 2021, the classic car fair will once again be held in the areas of the Padua Exhibition Centre with great novelties and 115,000 square meters of exhibition space. The 2021 edition announces itself as the only major European trade fair in the sector and interest is high. Reservations are booming for all areas of the fair, the participation of the major car manufacturers is once again guaranteed and the international presence is particularly strong.
"Passion is returning to Padua," says Mario Carlo Baccaglini, organizer of the Auto e Moto d'Epoca classic car fair for over thirty years. "The classic car sector is showing tremendous energy, there are more and more enthusiasts in every age group and you can hear a great desire to participate. Car sellers and dealers have already responded enthusiastically and the exhibition areas are in great demand. Collectors and motor enthusiasts from all over the world will meet in Padua and we are ready to welcome them with many new products."

Italy wins on the race track
The great Italian brands that have become racing legends will receive a lot of attention in Padua. Two unprecedented special shows will join the soul mates of motorsport at the Auto e Moto d'Epoca classic car fair from October 21 to 24, 2021.
The cars - always the biggest Italian brands with the world champion models that won important races. From the MAUTO Museum in Turin come Ferrari, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Maserati, starting with what has always been one of the most famous Ferrari single-seaters: the 156 F1 Sharknose.
The motorcycles - Gilera, Morini, MV Agusta, Rumi, Benelli and many other brands of the heroic age of Italian motorcycles open the road to the world victory of the Ducati 900SS, which changed the image of the manufacturer forever. Lancia Lambda celebrated as the first modern car
The Lancia Lambda celebrated its centenary on September 1, 2021. It went down in history as a car that shaped the revolution in the car industry then, now and in the future.
The Lancia Club is celebrating the 100th birthday of the Lancia Lambda with two models on display: a saloon and a model with torpedo bodywork.
The Lambda is known as the first modern car because it revolutionized the way cars were made in the 1920s. It was the first car with a self-supporting body, the first with shock absorbers, a drive shaft in a tunnel, a four-wheel braking system and an electrical system. All these innovations were registered and patented and for many years marked the spearhead of the automotive industry.
The Lambda had introduced the innovations long before their time, so it remained unchanged for almost 10 years. In those days, cars were usually completely redesigned every year or two to keep pace with rapidly changing advances in manufacturing techniques.
The design of the Lambda, however, was so innovative that it became the gold standard of reference in the automotive industry. For years, European manufacturers applied the technical measures introduced by Lancia and some advertised their top-of-the-range vehicles with a simple and revealing name: the best cars of the time were long referred to in brochures as the "Lambda type".
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL of Gina Lollobrigida
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Club-Italy can show the sports car of actress Gina Lollobrigida from 1956 in Padua.
The model with its unique history will be on display in Padua following a complete restoration that has scrupulously respected the original equipment, as can be seen from the Mercedes-Benz origin sheet.
The design of the stand is entirely dedicated to this car and the actress who owned it.
The Mercedes 190 SL was truly the car of the movie stars and the carefree era of the economic miracle.
After the exhibition of two prototypes at the New York Motor Show in 1954 and the 25th Geneva Motor Show in March 1955, the final version of the Mercedes 190 SL appeared for the first time. Its development was due to Maximilian Edwin "Max" Hoffman (American Mercedes importer), who wanted a roadster model that was inspired by the 300 SL but was more affordable.
In the era of the economic miracle, a prestigious vehicle like the Mercedes 190 SL was what was needed to equip a category of young, career-minded people with good financial means with a vehicle. The Mercedes 190 SL embodied the feeling of freedom of the "Swinging Fifties".
Almost 80 % of total production (25881 vehicles between 1955 and 1963) was exported, half of them to the United States, where the European roadsters were always highly appreciated.

E-mobility has a long history and at the Auto e Moto d'Epoca classic car fair, Mercedes and FCA Heritage will be talking about it. The trade fair in Padua forms the link between tradition and innovation. This is where the major brands present new horizons and their roots.

Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, is presenting the pioneering 190E electric, alongside the vehicle that the car manufacturer considers to be the modern pinnacle of e-mobility: the flagship EQS.
