Renault has a collection of over 800 vehicles that illustrate the history of the brand from its creation in 1898 to the present day. Among these old and new road and racing vehicles are many that have impressed generations of automobile enthusiasts, such as the Marne cabs, "Stella", NN, Juvaquatre, 4 CV, Floride, Estafette, Renault 4, Renault 5 and others. There are also tanks from the First World War, record-breaking vehicles, prototypes, movie cars, small commercial vehicles from all eras...
So many treasures that bear witness to Renault's inventiveness and expertise over a period of almost 125 years.
To integrate this exceptional heritage into a plan for the future, Renault has been thinking about how to breathe new life into the collection to give it a dynamic coherence in line with the Renaulution strategy that the company is pursuing.
Sale of vehicles together with Artcurial
In this context, Renault, the historic mobility brand, has decided to team up with Artcurial Motorcars, the French collector car auction house, to regularly auction a certain number of vehicles from its large collection. These auctions provide an opportunity to delve into the rich history of the French manufacturer.
Selected cars will be offered by Artcurial Motorcars as part of the existing auction calendar at the Salon Rétromobile in February, on the occasion of "Automobiles sur les Champs" at the end of October and on the occasion of the "Le Mans Classic".
At each of these auctions, vehicles from the Renault collection will be presented in a special section entitled "Renault Icons".
Launch on the occasion of the Le Mans Classic
This collaboration will kick off at the Le Mans Classic auction on July 2, 2022, with eight vehicles on offer. They offer collectors the opportunity to acquire a piece of the legend and bring automotive treasures back to life that were previously stored in the brand's reserves.
One of these cars is the 1983 Renault RE40-03, which Alain Prost drove in the 1983 Grand Prix season. The V6 turbo engine produced 650 hp and allowed Prost to win the Belgian Grand Prix and finish second in the San Marino GP.
