RM Sotheby's, one of the world's leading auction houses for classic cars, modern classics and collectors' cars, has entered into a partnership with the International St. Moritz Automobile Weeks AG. This year, the internationally renowned Bernina Gran Turismo hill climb will take place for the 7th time as part of this automobile week.
With the revival of the St. Moritz Automobile Week of 1929 and 1930, two new events will be added to the event, namely the "Kilomètre Lancé - Alpine 1000" as the current version of the kilometer race and the "Motorsport Rendezvous", an automobile garden party for racing and sports cars.
Forian Seidl comments: "It's a perfect fit that we have now been able to reach an agreement with RM Sotheby's for the next 3 years."
Exclusive auction on September 17, 2021
The auction will take place on Friday, September 17, 2021 on the grounds of the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains in St. Moritz Bad. First announcements have already been made:
A 1953 Fiat 8V, one of the first of the 34 Series 1 cars, is expected to fetch CHF 1.3 to 1.6 million when fully restored.
A 1958 BMW 507 Series II in white was estimated to fetch CHF 2 to 2.2 million.
A Mercedes-Benz 300 SL from 1961 is also expected, for which an estimate of CHF 1 to 1.2 million has been made.
The trio is completed by a Porsche 993 GT2 Clubsport from 1996 for CHF 1.1 to 1.3 million.
If the rest of the line-up is also of such high caliber, then you can look forward to an exclusive auction worthy of the St. Moritz Automobile Week.
Hill climb at the center
The Bernina Gran Turismo hill climb with around 80 participants on September 18 and 19, 2021 will of course also play a central role in 2021. Automobilwoche will be complemented by the Automotive Film Festival from September 10 to 15.
The slogan of the St. Moritz Tourist Board is "Top of the World" and could not be more fitting for this new event, which has the potential to become the "European Car Week".
You can read more about the auction on the RM/Sotheby's website, and further information about St. Moritz Automobile Week can be found on the event website.
