Once again, RM Sotheby's will be making a guest appearance at Motorworld Munich to auction off cars and motorcycles. On October 18, 2025, 67 vehicles, including four motorcycles, will go under the hammer. Together, they were estimated at EUR 35.5 million. Almost half of the vehicles, which are on average less than 34 years old, will be offered without a reserve price.
A very special lot is the BMW R 18 Transcontinental from 2024, which was signed by the Pope and is now being auctioned for a good cause.
BMW and the others
26 BMWs make up more than a third of the vehicles on offer on October 18. 22 of them come from the "M Collection", a BMW collection with a focus on M versions.
Among the remaining brands, Ferrari dominates with 15 vehicles (plus 1 Dino), followed by Porsche with six and Mercedes-Benz with three cars.
The range does not include any brands that have disappeared or become rare.
A Ferrari F50
349 Ferrari F50s were built, the example on offer was the 135th car built and will become a classic car next year. It is still shifted by hand (and with a clutch pedal), with a V12 engine raging in the rear.
The F50 keeps its predecessor, the F40, at bay in terms of price, with the RM specialists expecting the highest bid to be between EUR 4 and 4.5 million.
A Mercedes-AMG One
At EUR 2.75 to 3.4 million, one of the few Mercdes-AMG One will be offered in a double pack together with a Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One Edition.
The AMG One is one of 275 units produced, has only 263 km on the clock and comes with a warranty until 2027. The GT has already covered 3477 km.
A Porsche Carrera 6
52 customer examples of the Porsche Carrera 6 (906) were produced in 1966. One of these rare cars, chassis 906146) went to the Netherlands at the time and was driven in many races by racing drivers such as Wim Loos, Gijs van Lennep and Ben Pon.
Today, the 906 has been restored and has a low-maintenance 911 2.4-liter engine, but an original 906 two-liter is included if you can raise the estimated EUR 1.8 to 2.2 million.
The classic rivals 507 and 300 SL
They were the sport convertible highlights of the German car industry in the 1950s, the BMW 507 and the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. RM will be putting one of each of these rare classics under the hammer in Munich.
The 507 from 1957 is from the second series, was restored in 2010 and has front disc brakes and wheels with central hubs. EUR 1.5 to 1.7 million was estimated.
The 300 SL was built in 1958 and restored between 2023 and 2025. Now EUR 1 to 1.5 million is set to change hands.
Young BMW
The BMWs on offer are less than 25 years old on average, if you exclude the aforementioned 507. With the exception of two cars, all are offered without a minimum price.
One highlight will certainly be the M1 from 1980, which is expected to find a new owner for EUR 500,000 to 600,000.
Also rare is the 2002 turbo from 1975, which is listed in the catalog for EUR 100,000 to 140,000.
Many of the other BMWs are three-cylinder derivatives or closely related to them, such as the Z3 and Z4, but also several M3s.
Many super classics
There is also a wide range of super classics with Ferrari steeds on the front.
Highlights here include a 275 GTB from 1965 (EUR 2.2 to 2.5 million), a 330 GTC from 1968 (EUR 480,000 to 580,000) and a Testarossa from 1986 with the single high-mounted rear-view mirror (EUR 300,000 to 400,000).
Fans of smaller Ferraris should take a look at the Dino 246 GT from 1971 (EUR 300,000 to 350,000) and the 308 GTB Vetroresina from 1976 (EUR 200,000 to 250,000).
And the Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2, which Niki Lauda washed himself, is certainly something special.
The list of Italian classics is even longer, however, as a Lamborghini Countach from 1990, a Maserati 3500 GTi from 1964 and a Fiat 8V from 1954 are also looking for new owners.
The latter is a works Berlinetta with the coupé bodywork by Rapi.
A Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 is not missing either. The 1973 Touring version is expected to cost between EUR 300,000 and 375,000.
And then there is the Shelby GT350 from 1967, which wants to change garages for EUR 120,000 to 150,000.
RM Sotheby's offer in Munich is extensive and varied, so if you still have space to put something up, you could also purchase a Red Bull Racing RB6 as a show car from 2010 or one of the spectacular Bimota motorcycles.
