The Passione Caracciola is back and presents itself in a slightly different form and a little later in 2019.
The 2019 edition is intended to set new accents in terms of the joy of driving and being together. The rally should also be relaxing, allow you to forget everyday life and experience wonderful moments in the company of the participants.
The focus was therefore on an attractive route, excellent hotels, restaurants with their wonderful food and entertainment.
Interesting route
The roads on which the Passione Caracciola will take place in 2019 are interesting and promise breathtaking views, whether through the beauty of the Jura or the hilly landscapes of western Switzerland. But there is also plenty of adrenaline and fun to be had on the racetrack. The boat trip across Lake Neuchâtel is integrated as more of a nostalgic way to enjoy time together.
Rudolf Caracciola, to whom the rally is dedicated, is known to have always had a special connection to Switzerland. He lived here for a long time and is also buried in Switzerland. This is why this elegant racing driver is celebrated every year.
Two stages
On September 20, the first day of the rally after the introductory event the evening before, the journey will take the drivers from Pratteln to Neuchâtel, with lunch in Saignelégier.
On the second day, a round trip is planned starting and finishing in Neuchàtel, with a stopover at the Lignière race track.
September 22, 2019 is dedicated to the finale.
The rally therefore means two full days behind the wheel with numerous special stages, a number of special stages and a rich supporting program, which we attach great importance to. Of course, not all the news is here, after all, the rally should also offer surprises.
The technical management of the rally is the responsibility of Umberto Ferrari, who has always been in charge of the rally book and the overall coordination. He is supported by Renato Bernardi and the timekeepers of the Italian Timekeepers Association (FICR), the same people who are also involved in the Mille Miglia.
All this is the Passione Caracciola, a successful mix of roads, the right dose of competition and lots of fun.
At the highest level
As always with the Passione, which is already the fifth Passione Caracciola to be held, all the hotels and restaurants are of the highest standard. Of course, this is also reflected in the participation fee, but everything is included, from the road book to the hotels, including meals and the legendary gifts that all participants receive.
Five categories
Five vehicle categories take part separately, but at the end there is one overall winner of the rally.
Various regularity runs, special stages and, of course, entertainment are planned:
- Class D Post Vintage up to 1945
- Class E post-war cars from 1946 to 1960
- Class F Classic from 1961 to 1970
