Immerse yourself, marvel and enjoy - that's what the Oldtimer Grand Prix Safenwil has been inviting you to do for over thirty years. The event, which is known far beyond the canton of Aargau, will take place for the 31st time in 2023 and is a crowd-puller. Around 2,500 visitors from all over Switzerland and nearby countries come to the grounds of Autocenter Emil Frey AG in Safenwil to indulge in motorized nostalgia and marvel at the elegance and finesse of various enchanting gems.
A whole day in a circle
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, the engines will be running hot again from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Throughout the day, car rarities of all makes, from 1975 and older, as well as gems from the Emil Frey Museum can be admired all day long on the grounds and on the secured race track. The drivers, some dressed in original menus from past eras, proudly show off their oldies.
This nostalgic and fascinating journey through time is not to be missed. The Friends of Old Motorcycles (FAM) will also round off the spectacle on August 19, 2023 and present their motorcycles and sidecars on the circuit and in the paddock.
Classic cars on tour
For the third time, the rallies will be held across the Mittelland. The field of participants, which is as varied as ever, will now take part in time trials on the selected tours named North, South, West and East. The aim is to complete the prescribed route in a precisely defined time and reach the finish line without making any mistakes. Thrills guaranteed.
In addition to the attractive field of participants, the classic car collection of the Classic Center Switzerland on the other side of the highway can also be viewed. Visitors will be chauffeured to the museum in an original London bus, where they can immerse themselves in the long history of these exclusive vehicles.
Free parking and culinary delights Various Grandprix refreshments will be available. Various food offers and barbecue stands invite you to take a leisurely stroll around the classic car area. Admission is free and there are over 1000 free parking spaces available for visitors.
Fast-paced program
9.30 a.m.: Opening of the doors to the Autocenter Safenwil site and start of the rallies
10.25 a.m.: Pace car inspection round
10.30 a.m.: Start of the Oldtimer Grand Prix Safenwil, various circuits on the course route
11.40 am: Last lap (before lunch)
12.00 noon - 12.45 p.m.: Arrival of the rallies at the Autocenter
12.45 pm - 1.15 pm: Award ceremony SUZUKI Swiss Racing Cup. Followed by presentation drives, 3 laps, participants Suzuki Swiss Racing Cup
13.30 hrs: Award ceremony for rally participants
1.45 p.m.: Pace car inspection lap and continuation of the circuits
approx. 16.30 hrs: End of Oldtimer Grand Prix Safenwil
