Unfortunately, the popular classic car GP in the town of Brugg had to be canceled in 2021, but it can now take place again on Saturday, July 2, 2022, in its former glory in the atmospheric surroundings of Brugger Schachen.
A special feature of the event is the idyllic circuit, which offers plenty of entertainment for drivers and spectators thanks to its short length.
Around 200 vehicles ...
Eight racing fields will circulate around the circuit over the course of July 2, 2022, divided according to the type of vehicle and each with up to 23 starters.
... on two, three, four and even more wheels
Three of the eight racing fields are dedicated to motorcycles and sidecar teams, five to cars. One field will consist exclusively of over 20 formula and racing sports cars.
The pre-war fraction also has its own racing field.
The FABAM (Friends of Old Sheet Metal of Old Brands) and the AMAG Corso also take part.
Social get-together
In previous editions of the GP Brugger Schachen, the event was characterized by a cosy get-together, a sociable visit to the paddock, enjoying a bratwurst or a beer in the festival restaurant or at one of the various food stands and the shared enjoyment of the participating vehicles in the grandstand, and this will be no different on 2 July 2022.
The participants arrive from 07:00 and the non-timed tours start from 09:00 behind a lead vehicle.
There is a lunch break between 12:00 and 13:00 and the event ends at 17:00. Admission is CHF 15.00 per adult (over 16 years old) including program booklet. A speaker will inform the audience about all the participants and reveal many exciting details about the cars.
You can read more about the event on the Oldtimer GP Brugger Schachen website. Reports from 2013, 2015 and 2019 can be found on zwischengas.
