On July 12, 2023, another 28 cars from the "Carrera Collection" will go under the hammer at Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan, following the auction of the first 54 vehicles in Langenthal (Switzerland) on July 7, 2023.
However, only a handful of the cars to be sold at Corso Venezia 16 bear the "Carrera" lettering on the car. As in Langenthal, all vehicles will be offered without a minimum price. An average of EUR 129,911 (how fitting) is expected, a total of EUR 3.64 million. The cars, only three of which do not bear a Porsche badge, are on average almost 38 years old.
Mainly 911s
20 cars are Porsche 911 derivatives, on average just 32 years young.
The spectrum ranges from the early 911 S from 1966 to the Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition from 2017.
Four times 356
There are also four Porsche 356s on offer.
One of the auction's flagship lots is a 356 A Carrera 1600 GT from 1959 with Italian racing history, which was estimated at EUR 400,000 to 500,000.
The remaining three 356s have less sporty engines, but are open-top. One of them is a roadster from 1960 (EUR 175,000 to 225,000).
Incidentally, the only Porsche in Milan without a rear engine is a 928 S4 from 1990 (EUR 15,000 to 30,000).
Lonely BMW Z1
The only BMW in Milan is a Z1 from 1990 in the color "fun yellow" (in combination with a similar yellow interior), which was only delivered 141 times.
The car is being sold with a mileage of 17,891 kilometers and was estimated at EUR 50,000 to 70,000.
Two open Mercedes-Benz
The offer is completed by two open cars from Sindelfingen, a 280 SE Cabriolet from 1969 with automatic transmission and Becker Mexico TR radio for EUR 70,000 to 90,000 and a 280 SL (R107) from 1985, which was once delivered to a Mercedes employee and is now expected to cost EUR 40,000 to 60,000.
In contrast to the Langenthal auction, where most of the cars are offered with Swiss papers, the cars auctioned in Italy mainly have German vehicle papers (annulled), but there are also some with other European origins and a few cars whose registration in Europe is still in progress.
More information and pictures of the cars can be found on the RM/Sotheby's website.
