Preview (beginning of the article)
It was the last time that RM/Sotheby's accompanied the Amelia Island Concours with an auction. For Saturday, March 4, 2023, the specialists from RM had put together their most diverse and probably also most valuable offering to date. It ranged from pre-war veterans to modern hypercars. The auction took place in Fernandina Beach, Florida. It was interesting to note that although the cars could be seen driving during the auction, they were filmed outside and not in the auction room. In addition to some automobilia, 88 cars with a total value of USD 86.43 million went under the hammer. 42 percent of the vehicles were offered without a reserve price.
