From September 13 to 16, 2018, the Montreux Grand Prix will take place once again after 2014. The program includes a rally across the idyllic landscape; the Montreux-SHMS-Caux Revival "hill climb", a Montreux-Gstaad discovery rally and the César Ritz & Mosimann Collection rally.
History
Varzi, Trossi, Zehender, Straight, Hamilton, Veyron, Etancelin and the Swiss Braillard once lined up on the starting line of the first Montreux Grand Prix. In the end, however, it was Philippe Etancelin in his Maserati and the Scuderia Ferrari team in their Alfa Romeo that fought a magnificent duel on the streets of Montreux in 1934.
This was initially the only time the "Grand Prix Automobile de Montrex" was held until it was revived in 1984, when the 50th anniversary of the Grand Prix race was celebrated. Cars rolled along the Riviera and names such as Fangio and Regazzoni were on the guest list. Since then, the "Montreux Grand Prix" has been held as a historic event roughly every three years, and in 2018, it's finally time again...
