The Kitzbühel Alpine Rally will also take place in the fall in 2022. From September 7 to 10, some of the most beautiful classic cars in automotive history will set off on a long journey from the Hahnenkamm town when the motto is once again: "Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines".
The 35th Kitzbühel Alpine Rally will also take place in the fall. In order to offer planning security (Corona), the decision was made early on to organize the rally again in September. And so this year, for the third time in a row, the traditional rally will be staged on early autumn routes - no less scenic than the traditional Alpine rally date in early summer. What remains unchanged: there are once again many interesting routes to discover on the most beautiful Alpine roads, this time with a large loop over the Gerlos Pass, through the Zillertal and the Unterinntal to the Bavarian Sudelfeld on Friday and a drive through the Pinzgau with the breathtaking Hochkönigberg route on Saturday. As every year, the final highlight will be the finish with the big vehicle parade in the old town of Kitzbühel at the finale of the Alpine Rally - an experience for fans and teams alike.
In total, there are again three daily stages with around 600 kilometers on the route plan. Three challenging routes with picturesque views of snow-capped peaks and rugged mountain ranges, through lush green valleys and over adventurous Alpine passes. There are two categories for participants to choose from: either sporty (Sport Trophy with numerous stages and transponder GPS measurement) or relaxed (Classic Trophy with fewer stages). The 1975 model year limit ensures exclusivity in the starting field and offers a cross-section of the most beautiful classic cars from pre- and post-war times. For enthusiasts, the "hourglass class" will be offered again this year. Only mechanical timepieces and aids are permitted in this category; electronic assistance is prohibited.
The most beautiful classic cars in the Hahnenkamm town
The Kitzbühel Alpine Rally has been one of the largest and most renowned historic automobile events for 35 years. The magnificent backdrop of the mountains around Kitzbühel and along the routes and the sophisticated charm of the Hahnenkamm town provide the setting for one of the most beautiful classic car events in Europe.
Success has many components: The most beautiful vehicles from all eras of automotive engineering, genuine motorsport enthusiasts in the selected field of participants, the unique natural backdrop of the Tyrolean mountains and, of course, the enchanting charm of Kitzbühel, the "Sports Capital of the Alps". The most traditional of Austria's major classic car events scores with these ingredients.
