In the sixties and seventies, Jensen was one of the best-known British manufacturers in the luxury and sports car market. Models such as the Interceptor are still known today for their GT qualities. The brand was founded in the 1930s by brothers Richard and Alan Jensen. In addition to its own cars, Jensen also worked as a contract manufacturer for other manufacturers, including the early Volvo P1800.
Jensen International Automotive (JIA) is now planning to launch another sports car of its own. The new car will be designed from scratch and will have an aluminum chassis and a self-developed V8 engine. The aim of the new "Ultra High Performance Luxury GT" is a "fully analog driving experience".
Whether this also includes a manual gearbox and how the company will manage to meet the modern approval guidelines with an analog-looking car remains the secret of Jensen International Automotive (JIA) at the moment. So far, the company has mainly helped owners of classic Jensen models and offered modernizations.
More information will be available on the JIA website in the future.
