The first Anantara Concorso Roma, presented by UBS, will take place from April 24 to 27, 2025 and final preparations for this glamorous event are already underway. In the spirit of La Dolce Vita and all that is Italian - hospitality, cuisine and craftsmanship - the event will also mark 100 years since the very first Concorso d'Eleganza, which took place in Rome in April 1926.
From the outset, the aim was to invite the world's most prestigious car collectors and bring together a spectacular selection of exclusively Italian masterpieces in the heart of Rome - a spectacle worthy of the historic setting.
The organizers have now announced the vehicle selection for the debut event: Fifty vehicles have been selected from numerous submissions, showcasing the best of Italian design and technical excellence. With all the legendary brands represented, the exhibition tells the story of the Italian sports car - from the early pioneering days through the heroic decades of motorsport to the first super sports cars of the modern era.
From Alfa Romeo to Siata
Participating brands include Alfa Romeo, Cisitalia, Ferrari, Fiat, Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati, Pagani and Siata. Among these jewels are some particularly remarkable examples - some extremely rarely seen, some freshly restored and on public display for the first time.
The vehicles are divided into classes spanning different eras and types of use - from the 1902 Fiat built especially for Ignazio Florio (from the famous Florio family) to the 2018 Pagani Zonda Viola. There are twelve classes in total, covering different periods and vehicle types.
The class of vehicles between the First and Second World Wars includes five rare Alfa Romeos - including a model built for the chauffeur of Benito Mussolini, who competed in the Mille Miglia, and another for Franco Mazzotti, one of the four Brescia enthusiasts who created the Mille Miglia.
The post-war classes feature vehicles built for Gran Turismo and sports car racing. Visitors to the Concorso can look forward to a spectacular trio of Ferraris that together won four victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans: the 275P (winner in 1963 and 1964), the 250 LM (winner in 1965) and - as a special highlight, kindly provided by Ferrari SpA - the 499P, winner of the 2024 edition.
Another class is dedicated exclusively to the cars of Carrozzeria Zagato, while other classes present Gran Turismo models from the golden era of the 1960s and 1970s - including the legendary Lamborghini.including the legendary Lamborghini Miura from the film The Italian Job and the Ferrari 512 BBi, which was built especially for "L'Avvocato" - Gianni Agnelli.
The beauty competition will take place at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel and will begin on Thursday, April 24 with an exclusive kick-off event at the Rooftop Bar & Restaurant SEEN by Olivier. On Friday, April 25, the Giro d'Anantara will start, with the participating vehicles driving from Piazza della Repubblica in front of the hotel in a parade through the city to Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati - a former papal residence - where a private lunch will take place. Then it's back to the Casina Valadier in Villa Borghese, where the Concorso will be held at the weekend in the gardens of the elegant villa with breathtaking views over the Eternal City.
The Concorso is open to visitors on the weekend of April 26 and 27. The vehicles will be judged by a high-caliber jury headed by chief judge Adolfo Orsi. The winners of the classes and the prestigious title of "Best in Show" will be announced on Sunday afternoon.
