On May 3, 2015, the eighth edition of the Concorso d'Eleganza Italiauto will take place for the first time at the St. Urban Monastery, a worthy setting for the beautiful Italian gems and well-preserved but forgotten everyday cars of past decades.
Among those already registered are a Fiat 131 Abarth Stradale, an Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS Touring, an Innocenti De Tomaso, a Fiat Ardita and an Ansaldo 4 CS, to name just a few examples.
The new framework also creates space for something new. For the first time, a special class for a famous Italian coachbuilder will be organized in 2015; the choice fell on Pietro Frua. Vehicles are still being sought for this special class.
During his career, Frua designed and built a large number of automobiles, from special bodies to production cars. His work included several versions of the Maserati A6G 2000, many Fiat derivatives, special versions of the Alfa Romeo1900 CSS and the elegant Renault Floride. The Maserati Quattroporte of the sixties, the Lloyd Alexander Frua and the Glas 1300 GT, all based on Frua designs, are also well-known. The Maserati Mistral was also designed by Pietro Frua. And the bodies of the early Monteverdi sports cars were built by Frua.
Anyone who has such a vehicle and would like to take part in the one-day Concorso, including a 10-km drive, can still register via the Italiauto website.
