The International Edelweiss Mountain Prize Rossfeld in Berchtesgaden will take place again from September 26-28, 2014 . The "Goodwood of the Alps" is starting its second edition this year, after a successful first year in 2013.
Legends meeting in Berchtesgaden
On the Friday before the race, spectators have the chance to marvel at the rare vehicles and their drivers, such as racing legend Walter Röhrl, as part of the vehicle presentation in the pedestrian zone of Berchtesgaden with free admission.
From as early as 12.00 noon, the program includes a visit to the Kitzbühel sports car meetingat the Weihnachtsschützenplatz and a reading by journalist legend Rainer Braun. In the midst of a celebrity round of former drivers, Braun will read from his book "Hallo Fahrerlager" (Hello paddock) from 4.00 pm.
More vintage buses, closer parking spaces, a shared paddock
From Saturday, a total of three demonstration runs will take place. To ensure that spectators get to the bestviewing points along the route in good time, 25 classic car buses will once again be in operation. The free shuttle service of the RVO buses has also been further optimized. Instead of two, there will now only be one large, shared paddock at the southern toll station.
Important for classic car fans: In 2014, it will still be possible to drive to the event in your own car and park directly at the summit parking lot or at the Oberau parking lot, from where the free buses will shuttle to the paddock or the finish area at the Ahornkaser within a short time.
Interesting vehicle field
As with the first event, the organizers of the second historic Rossfeld race are placing great emphasis on authentic vehicles that, if possible, have already conquered the mountain in their "active" era. You can look forward to seeing many Abarths, Porsches, NSU TTs and many other mountain fleas.
Show interlude: Magician Harry Riegel rides "blind" up the Rossfeld!
As a show interlude during the lunch break on both days of the event, magician Harry Riegel will climb the legendary route to the Ahornkaser blindfolded at the wheel of a vintage car, as a "treat" for the spectators at the event.
