As part of Christie’s Luxury Week, Gooding Christie’s will hold its first-ever car auction on November 8, 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland. Twenty-four vehicles with a combined value of approximately CHF 22.4 million are listed for the auction. This translates to just over CHF 935,000 per car. However, 79% of the cars will be offered without a reserve price.
Just over a third are modern classics or classic cars
Only nine of the 24 cars are already considered youngtimers or vintage cars—that is, over 20 years old. No wonder the average age of the vehicles is just 21 years.
Classic Ferraris Without a Reserve Price
Of the nine older cars, five come from Maranello. The most valuable classic car in the “oldtimer” category is a red 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona.
The early plexiglass-hood version with Borrani spoke wheels was originally delivered in Bologna but has been in Switzerland since 1989. It is expected to fetch between CHF 650,000 and 750,000.
Also red is the 1971 Dino 246 GT, which is set to go under the hammer for CHF 275,000 to 325,000. It comes with a Ferrari Classiche certificate.
The remaining three Ferraris are being offered without a reserve price and are no less appealing.
The 1976 308 GTB with a plastic body has been estimated at CHF 150,000 to 175,000, while the 1983 512 BBi has been estimated at CHF 300,000 to 350,000.
The most affordable option is a 2003 360 Challenge, which is listed in the auction catalog at CHF 70,000 to 90,000.
Two Mercedes Classic Cars
Two cars bearing the Mercedes star and with about half a century under their belts are being offered in Geneva with no reserve price.
The older of the two is a silver Mercedes-Benz 190 SL from 1959, which is expected to fetch between CHF 120,000 and 140,000.
The newer one is a dark blue 1969 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet, priced at CHF 230,000 to 280,000.
Two “exotic” cars
Rounding out the classic section are two affordable vehicles.
A 1989 Citroën 2 CV Charleston is listed for CHF 25,000 to 35,000.
For the Swiss “Montana” version of the 1987 Puch 280 GE, the experts at Gooding have estimated a value of CHF 25,000 to 45,000.
Unused Ferrari 499 P Modificata
The highlight of the auction will be a 2024 Ferrari 499 P Modificata. We can still clearly recall the year 2023, when the Ferrari 499 B emerged victorious at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As a result, Ferrari developed Modificata versions of the race car that were free of the restrictions imposed by the regulations.
The hybrid sports car, which has been driven only a few kilometers since it was built, delivers 780 PS and is now expected to fetch bids “in excess of CHF 7.5 million.”
Young Duets
The other newer sports cars, built in 2016 or later, which round out the lineup, are slightly more affordable.
They almost always appear in pairs. There are two Ferrari 488 Pistas, two Ferrari 12Cilindris, two Ferrari 296 Speciales, and two Porsche 911 derivatives.
In addition, there’s a Ferrari F12tdf, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Ford GT, and a Ferrari SF90 XX Spider.
If you’re looking for newer supercars, Geneva on November 8, 2026, is definitely the place to be.
More information and photos of the individual vehicles are available on the Gooding Christie’s website.
