The special exhibition 2024 at autobau erlebniswelt with the English ADO16 vehicles from the swinging sixties of the last century ended on August 29, 2024 under the motto "The wild boys want to get back into the air". With an atmospheric finissage in the best summer weather, the small, large-capacity vehicles with the resonant brands Austin, Morris, Vanden Plas and MG were driven outside and immediately moved around the autobau circuit.
With panel discussion and test drives
Around 80 people accepted the invitation from ADO16 connoisseur and initiator of the special exhibition, Christian Rutishauser. For three months, 16 Tiny Cars were on display in the Klassik Salon at autobau erlebniswelt.
In midsummer temperatures, Rolf Hürzeler, freelance journalist, Hans Bichsel, owner of the RAID organization, and Yves Boitel, auctioneer and private owner of Broad Arrow, discussed the question of "How do young people find access to classic cars"? Yves Boitel, the youngest member of the panel, thought that young people should be invited to events that show both new vehicles and classic cars. Hans Bichsel, on the other hand, indirectly appealed to autobau erlebniswelt to bring young people and classic cars together.
After the podium, the guests enjoyed the cozy evening with good company, risotto, a glass of wine and musical entertainment by Thomas Straumann.
It was also possible to drive a few laps with the "wild guys" on the circuit.
Classic vehicles in the Classic Salon
The well-known classic and vintage cars are now back in their usual place in the Classic Salon. During the fall vacations, the vehicle collection will be open three days a week in addition to the regular opening hours.
The Vector W8 Twinturbo is also back in the Supersport Gallery after a trip to the Louwman Museum in The Hague. This vehicle is an absolute rarity and only 17 of them were produced in the USA. There are only two examples to admire in Europe, one of which is in Fredy Lienhard's vehicle collection.
Looking ahead: Christmas parties
Company parties before Christmas are an important part of the autobau erlebniswelt calendar. The event team has put together a great package for this. The evening begins with an aperitif by the fire bowl, where a crackling fire and twinkling lights create the perfect atmosphere for an atmospheric evening. Afterwards, you can explore Fredy Lienhard's vehicle collection on your own during a tour. Then it's time for the cozy part of the evening. A delicious fondue chinoise is served at the festively decorated table. Fine wines from the barrel round off the evening. This event is ideal for SMEs, friends or family celebrations.
