When the garage and hall doors are opened and the favorites on wheels are brought out into the light and onto the road, the 24th edition of Retro Classics will start in Stuttgart from February 27 to March 2, 2025, heralding the start of the classic car and youngtimer season.
There is no substitute for face-to-face interaction with the scene, only for more exchange and networking, as can be found at the largest trade fair for driving culture, the Stuttgart Retro Classics. From the nursery of mobility, the cradle of the automobile and the "riding car" to pre-war classics, vintage and modern classics including commercial vehicles and exclusive neo-classics of the modern era, everything is there - from "A" for Abarth, "H" for Hanomag, "M" for Manta and "Z" for Zündapp, Retro Classics Stuttgart brings the international scene together and confirms its reputation as the trade fair for driving culture!
Exciting supporting program and unique special shows
Classic cars from the USA - you automatically think of chrome, bright colors, panoramic windows and exalted fin designs. Or of hot rods, quarter-miles, bubbling V8 engines and muscle cars. Well-known brands such as Pontiac, Buick, Dodge, Cadillac and Oldsmobile come to mind, as do model names such as Mustang, Charger, Trans Am, Coronet and Skylark.
Ingenious minds from the "Motorcity" Detroit such as John Z. DeLorean (creator of the Pontiac GTO, among other things, and later the man behind the DeLorean DMC 12) and Lee Iacocca (pioneer of the Ford Mustang) created milestones in automotive history.
50 years of the Opel Manta B - stingray celebrates its birthday
Who would have thought when it made its debut in August 1975 what a career it would have in over 13 years of production: The Opel Manta B, available from 60 to 144 hp, was a family-friendly coupé, multiple international rally winner, tuning icon and automotive leading actor in two movies - "Manta Manta" and "Manta - The Movie" have long been cult.
They will all be on display at Retro Classics in Stuttgart - the good, the colorful, the fast and the famous Opel Manta B.
60 years of the Opel Kadett B
At the end of the 1950s, the then Opel parent company General Motors decided to revive the familiar pre-war model name "Kadett" for the company's designated Beetle competitor. And not only that, a completely new plant was built on a former coal mine site in Bochum, from which the Kadett A rolled off the production line from June 1962.
The Kadett B made its debut just three years later in August 1965, and by 1973 over 2.7 million had been built, making it the most successful Opel model of all time. This was certainly also due to its model diversity, as there were a total of eight body variants in its eight years of production, with engine outputs ranging from 40 to 106 hp. In 1967, the Rally Kadett emerged as the forerunner of the "GTI", which was to win its class several times at the Monte-Carlo Rally and was the dream of many young drivers. On display is a colorful cross-section of eight years of the Opel Kadett B.
