The Concours d'Elégance "Retro Classics meets Baroque" fulfills the FIVA Class A criteria. The prestigious concours event will take place for the eleventh time in Ludwigsburg Palace Park from June 20 to 22, 2014.
High-class and extremely rare classic cars compete alongside economic miracle automobiles against an international team of 29 well-known judges to be honored in the automotive beauty contest "Concours d'Élégance". The search is on for the classic car that can take home the "Grand Prix of Germany" award as "Best of Show".
Four rarities from Corrado Lopresto
Italian classic car collector Corrado Lopresto is entering the competition with four vehicles. Having recently won the "Coppa d'Oro" audience award at the world-famous Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in May 2014, the Italian is now presenting four different Alfa Romeo 6C 2500s, each of which has been "dressed" in sheet metal by a different designer.
Each of these vehicles is unique and exists only once. Bertone, Pininfarina, Touring and Castagna - all the finest Italian luxury carmakers - thus appear together once again more than 60 years after the production of these fantastic classics.
Fine classics from Bentley, Lancia, Horch and Packard
Five luxurious classics come from the collection of Lithuanian Saulius Karosas this year. A classy black Bentley 4.25 liter with Erdmann & Rossi bodywork, a freshly restored Lancia Astura Pininfarina, a Packard 8 limousine, a Horch 670 Cabriolet 12 cylinder and a Horch 780 Cabriolet 8 cylinder.
Other vehicles in the Concours d'Élégance from the field of the special exhibition "125 Years of Peugeot Motor Vehicles" and the exhibitors of the "60 Years of the Jaguar XK 140" will keep the judges busy, as particularly valuable and rare examples have also been entered here.
The Bugatti Royale Type 41, 1926, from a private collection managed by Daniel Lapp, will take part in the Concours and is particularly impressive due to its size and special history.
The judges will have two days to meticulously carry out their work. On Sunday, the award ceremony is eagerly awaited.
Only the recipient of the RetroClassicCultur Award has already been decided in advance. In a festive ceremony, this year's prize will go to former Transport Minister Dr. Matthias Wissmann for his outstanding commitment to the automobile as a cultural asset. The current VDA President was responsible for the introduction of the H license plate as Minister of Transport in 1997.
