The Auto Zürich Car Show will take place for the 33rd time on October 31 to November 3, 2019. Not only have many major manufacturers been persuaded to exhibit again, there is also plenty to see for classic and modern car fans in Hall 6.
Large racing car exhibition
Lutziger Classic Cars will be putting on a special racing car show with over half a dozen classics with history. Among others, the Sauber C5 from 1976, which took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1977, is expected to be on display. Incidentally, this car was presented at the 1975 racing car show in Zurich.
Also on display is the Brabham BT16 F2-1 from 1965, which Jochen Rindt once drove for the Winkelmann Racing Team. And the Cooper T45 F2-1 from 1958 also earned plenty of racing laurels back then.
The 1971 Ford Escort Twin Cam, in which Hannu Mikkola once took part in the East African Safari, is completely different. As a special feature, this car was left-hand drive, while all other works cars were right-hand drive.
Classic car rarities attractively presented
Hall 6 will be full of classic vintage cars. The dealers Goodtimer, Dönni Classic Cars, Eberhardt Classic, Emil Frey Classics, House of Cars, Niki Hasler, Porsche Classic Zurich and Porsche Center Zurich, among others, have already registered.
You can be sure that real super classics from Ferrari, Porsche, BMW and Jaguar will be on display.
And lots of new things
Of course, Auto Zürich is not a classic car show, but a new car show. And of course it also has attractions in the new car segment. Important manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and MINI are returning after last year's break. This extremely positive development brings Auto Zürich an unprecedented flood of premieres. This year, visitors can also look forward to the Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Fiat brands. The exhibition also boasts a new product: With Auto Zürich Classic, the largest car show in German-speaking Switzerland is launching a new format dedicated exclusively to historic vehicles, classics and youngtimers.
With a record 40 Swiss premieres, Auto Zürich can already report a success before the opening of the 33rd edition. The highlights include the most important premieres of this year's International Motor Show IAA in Frankfurt. The two long-awaited electric cars VW ID.3 and Porsche Taycan can be found in the Zurich exhibition halls, as can the new edition of the legendary Land Rover Defender.
This year, Auto Zürich wants to return to its roots: What is now the largest car show in German-speaking Switzerland began when a handful of garages decided to present their new products together at a joint exhibition. This concept is obviously still convincing today: "Visitors appreciate the fact that Auto Zürich is still a meeting place for professionals, industry experts and fans who enjoy personal interaction," explains organizer Doris Bieri. "Auto Zürich is delighted with the very positive commitment and goodwill it can count on from exhibitors," Doris Bieri continues: "This enthusiasm within the industry is probably also the reason why we are able to celebrate the return of major brands this year and thus record special successes even before the exhibition."
