Following talks with a positive operator of the Grossglockner Road, the date for 2014 has been finalized. The 3rd edition of the revival of the old Grossglockner Races will take place from September 4 to 6, 2014 on the legendary Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
The original plan was to take a break from the event in 2014, but due to the great interest and enthusiasm generated by the two previous revivals, it was decided to conquer Austria's highest mountain over the almost 14-kilometre-long pass road in both 2014 and 2015!
In 2015, the Grossglockner Grand Prix will celebrate its 80th anniversary! 1935 to 2015 will mark 80 years of the Grossglockner race - the road operator will be supporting a widely publicized anniversary event with a great deal of effort, in which mainly the pure pre-war starter fields will be on show and some special guests will also be able to compete on an invitation basis with cars built later than 1940.
A comprehensive book on the Grossglockner races of 1935, 1938 and 1939 and the revivals of the modern era will also be published in 2015.
From 2015 onwards, the Grossglockner Grand Prix will only be held every two years (i.e. 2017, 2019 etc.).
