Of course, everyone is still familiar with the films in which Jean-Paul Belmondo, who died in September 2021, starred. "Breathless", "Le Case", "Le Professionel", "Borsalino" and many other films filled movie theaters in the sixties to eighties. Belmondo, also known as "Bebel", loved beautiful cars and collected many of them.
In memory of the famous film star, the Chantilly Arts & Elégacne Richard Mille Concours d'Elégance is organizing a special class for cars from his films and cars that he collected on September 24 and 25, 2022.
The movie cars
Belmondo films were often characterized by remarkable stunts, car chases or driving scenes. Some car models are firmly linked to Belmondo's films, such as the Matra MS 650 in "Ho!" or the elegant Lorraine-Dietrich, which Belmondo drives with Alain Delon (alongside an Amilcar, which can be seen at least as often in the picture).
In the film "Un homme qui me plait", Belmondo drives a Mercury Marquis Convertible with Anne Girardot in the passenger seat.
The cars in Belmondo's garage
In addition to his movie cars, Belmondo was also interested in Italian sports cars. He owned Ferrari models such as the 308 GTS, the Dino 246 GT, the 250 Tour de France and the 250 California. He also had two Aston Martin DB5s in his garage, one gray and one burgundy.
And he drove a Maserati Ghibli Spider, an AC Ace Bristol and a Daimler SP250 Dart. He also once owned less glamorous cars such as a Peugeot 403 Cabriolet or a Renault-Alpine Gordini as well as a Panther Lima.
So there will be no shortage of choice for the interesting vehicle class at the Concours.
