Rally fans across Europe have already made a note of the weekend of July 24-26, 2014 in their calendars. The fourth edition of the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival will be held around Daun in the Vulkaneifel region.
In 2013, 40,000 fans from all over Europe followed the parade of over 150 historic rally cars during their demonstration drives. With 33 different car brands and 75 different types, a unique spectrum of diversity was presented(see detailed report 2013).
Proven concept with Reinhard Klein and Walter Röhrl
Co-organizer Reinhard Klein (Cologne) is the head of "Slowly Sideways", the association of owners of historic rally cars. The world-renowned rally photographer has set himself the goal of presenting the great diversity of rally history at the 2014 festival. Fans can already look forward to seeing which hidden "treasures and gems" of the rally scene will find their way to Daun. The tried-and-tested festival concept remains unchanged, with double world champion Walter Röhrl once again taking over the patronage.
50 years of rally sport in the Rally Mile
From Thursday to Saturday, all the evidence from over 50 years of rallying can be viewed in the Rally Mile in the middle of Daun.
Special stages again with Mantaloch,
The special stages will once again take place on the challenging asphalt roads of the Vulkaneifel. Rally director Hubert Böffgen (Gerolstein) has good news: "Some of the necessary permits have already been obtained. The cooperation with the local residents, the municipalities and the approval authorities is, as always, very pleasant."
The official kick-off in 2014 is once again the shakedown on Thursdays at the 'Mantaloch' in Brück. More than 6,000 fans came here for the premiere in 2013. Harald Demuth, the two-time German rally champion, was thrilled: "It's just brilliant what's going on here, you drive through a real trellis of fans." Organization manager Peter Schlömer from the organizing MSC Daun can confirm this enthusiasm. "The municipality of Brück is 'on fire' for our festival, they said, after all, Brück is the hub of the historic rally world for a day."
But the other feedback is also remarkable: "The communities affected by our routes are looking forward to taking part again in 2014. However, there are also communities where we are currently unable to ride, but which are in the process of exploring new route options especially for us."
The Bosch Super Stage on gravel and the traditional night stage in Sarmersbach are the highlights on Friday, while Saturday will once again be dominated by the stages in the Volcanic Eifel.
Entries open on February 15, 2014
However, participants will have to be patient: Entries do not open until February 15, 2014.
