The Modena Motor Gallery will once again become a mecca for sports car enthusiasts on September 24/25, 2016. In September, 1500 square meters of top automotive products from Emlia Romagna will attract visitors to Italy, which will still be warm at the time.
In the land of engines
Emilia is rich in brands and museums dedicated to mobility, as evidenced by the Ferrari museums in Modena and Maranelle, as well as the Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata. There are also impressive private collections such as those of Righini, Stanguellini and Panini.
England versus Italy
Matteo Panini is curating a special exhibition focusing on Colin Chapman and Enzo Ferrari. Italian school versus British garage mentality, i.e. two very different paths to success, will be shown together with the corresponding vehicles.
The personalities and their cars will have their say. One topic, for example, will be the positioning of the engine behind the driver, something that both Ferrari and Chapman clearly rejected at first. Drake also expressed his disdain for this innovation, stating that "the horse should be put in front of the car, not behind it".
Chapman was quicker to learn, with the result that Lotus won Grand Prix victories with Jack Brabham and Ferrari had to follow suit after a considerable delay.
In a recent interview, Mr. Formula 1 Bernie Ecclestone said that the two people who impressed him the most were Enzo Ferrari and Colin Chapman.
