It's already a tradition: for almost 20 years, the organizers of the Bremen Classic Motorshow have been opening the classic car season on the first weekend in February - and 2021 will be no exception. On Saturday, 6 February 2021, the team led by project manager Frank Ruge will kick off the season digitally with an online event and present a varied format from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. "We are planning a compact live stream with five hours of broadcasting time from Messe Bremen," says Ruge. Interested parties can follow the event from the comfort of their own couch via the Bremen Classic Motorshow website. Access to the online event is free of charge and requires no registration.
Varied program with online marketplace
In the live stream, the Bremen-based company will show what they have actually prepared for visitors to the 2021 trade fair and lift the curtain a little. "For example, we will be presenting selected cars from our 'Biedermann & Brandstifter' special show as a sneak preview of the 2022 trade fair," says Ruge. There will also be car and motorcycle presentations as well as petrol talks with personalities from the classic car scene. The online program will be rounded off with specialist lectures, workshops and the technical inspection of three candidates from the "Young Classics" category, which will then also be available to buy.
The Bremen trade fair organizers will also set up an online marketplace for classic vehicles, parts and automobilia on their website. "This will give our exhibitors the opportunity to post sales offers and visitors the chance to browse online and hunt for bargains," says Ruge.
Corona-related: online event instead of in-person trade fair
The 19th edition of the Bremen Classic Motorshow from February 5 to 7, 2021 was originally planned as an in-person trade fair. However, in November 2020, the organizers canceled the event with a heavy heart due to the coronavirus pandemic and announced an online event instead. According to the organizers, the event is intended as a consolation to bridge the waiting time until February 2022 for the anniversary trade fair celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Bremen Classic Motorshow.
The classic car show in Bremen is a fixed date for many lovers of classic cars and young classics on two and four wheels: People have been meeting here for almost two decades, exchanging ideas, talking shop and negotiating. "It's a difficult year for many," says Ruge.
Nevertheless, the scene is sticking together and supporting each other. "We want to be there for our exhibitors and visitors in these special times, open the season together with them and bring a little light into the dark season."
