On the occasion of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Bonhams will auction 61 cars and a large number of automobilia on July 11, 2025.
Together, the vehicles are worth around £11.6 million and are on average 41 years old. 20% of the cars will go under the hammer without a reserve price.
The Who's Who
With seven Aston Martin, seven Jaguar, six Ferrari, five Bentley and four Mercedes-Benz, the crème-de-la-crème of car manufacturers is well represented. While the Ferrari cars are relatively young at 37 years on average, the British cars were built much earlier.
More exotic brands are also represented with Spyker and Wiesmann. The Spyker is a rare C8 Laviolette Coupé from 2009, which is looking for a new owner for £ 400,000 to £ 450,000.
Americans
Cars from the USA are in the minority.
The cars on offer include a 1994 Dodge Viper R/T 10 Roadster and a 2011 Tesla Roadster.
Japanese
A Nissan and two Datsuns together with a Mazda RX7 from 1992 make up the Japanese range.
The two 240Zs from 1972 compete as a rally version and as an IMSA racing coupé.
The Nissan is a Skyline R33 GT-R V-Spec in racing version from 1995.
German
Four Mercedes-Benz and two Mercedes-AMG as well as three Porsche and one Wiesmann were produced in Germany.
The fifties super sports car 300 SL Roadster from 1957 (£ 850,000 to 950,000) is juxtaposed with a modern Mercedes-AMG One Coupé from 2003 (£ 2.4 to 2.8 million).
Two 911 derivatives from Porsche and a 356B as a Super 90 Coupé from 1963 are up for auction.
The Wiesmann is a GT MF5 Coupé from 2011 (£ 180'000 to 220'000).
Halfway to Germany, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 from 2007 could also go under the hammer for £500,000 to £800,000 with no limit.
Italians, especially Ferrari
The Ferrari offering is diverse and ranges from the left-hand drive 330 GT 2+2 from 1966 to the 360 Modena from 2002.
They also include a Testarossa and a Dino 308 GT4.
The Fiat-Abarth 695 "Tributo Ferrari" from 2010, which is also on offer, falls more into the neoclassic category.
... and of course British classics
About half of the cars are of British origin, of course. Among them are interesting super classics such as the Aston Martin DB4 from 1963, the Bentley 4 1/2 Litre Tourer from 1928, a Lotus Elite S1 from 1962 or a Jaguar XJ220 from 1992.
There is also a young McLaren 720S from 2020, as well as the MG Metro 6R4 from 1987 (£ 250'000 to 300'00).
There is also a Morgan, a young 4/4 Sports from 2010, and it is quite colorful!
An exciting car is the Cobra, which was based on a 1959 AC Ace.
The cheapest cars on offer are all of British origin. For example, a Lotus Elan +2S from 1969 was estimated at £ 15,000 to £ 20,000, and an MGB FIA racing car from 1966 at £ 20,000 to £ 30,000.
