Bonhams will once again be auctioning off a selection of special classic cars at the Concours d'Elégance in Chanillty near Paris on June 30, 2019.
There are 39 cars in total, with an average age of almost 60 years.
The total value of the vehicles is around EUR 9.5 million or CHF 10.5 million. This means that almost a quarter of a million euros are expected per car.
23 brands
23 car manufacturers on 39 vehicles, this promises diversity.
Only Alfa Romeo with 5 cars and Porsche and Mercedes-Benz with 4 cars stand out; the other brands are represented with a maximum of two cars, including manufacturers that have long since disappeared such as Gordini, Intermeccanica, Invicta and Salmson.
French specialties
Of course, Bonhams can bring some particularly rare French cars under the hammer, including a Peugeot 402 Eclipse from 1936 as a restoration object.
The Salmson 2300 Sport Coupé from 1954 is also one of the rarities, as is the Citroën DS 19 Cabriolet from 1962.
The icing on the cake, however, will be a Gordini 15S from 1952, which caused a sensation both as a monoposto and as a sports car at Le Mans. EUR 700,000 to 1 million is the estimated price for this car.
The Citroën 2 CV Charleston from 1989 will certainly be considerably cheaper, but it was still estimated at EUR 25,000 to 35,000.
Super classics too, of course
The super classics are certainly not missing in Chantilly either. For example, there is a Shelby Cobra 427 from 1966, one of the few originals with chassis CSC3276. The super sports car is said to cost between EUR 850,000 and 950,000.
The two Maserati, a Ghibli 4700 from 1971 and a Sebring from 1964, are likely to be considerably cheaper. They are both estimated at a moderate price level.
This cannot be said of the BMW 507. The 2nd series roadster from 1959 is said to cost EUR 1.8 to 2.2 million.
You can drive a BMW Roadster more cheaply with the Z8 from 2001, which is expected to cost EUR 180,000 to 240,000.
Some exotics
In addition to the better-known classics such as the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL or Porsche 356, Bonhams will also be selling some real exotics, including an Invicta 12/45 4 1/2 Litre Tourer from 1932, an Arnolt-Bristol Deluxe Roadster from 1954 and an Intermeccanica Indra Coupé from 1973.
The latter is announced without a reserve price for EUR 60,000 to 90,000. A total of six lots will be offered without a reserve price.
Further information and many pictures of the individual cars can be found on the Bonhams website.
