On January 23, 2026, Bonhams auctioned 53 cars plus two motorcycles, a trailer and some memorabilia in Scottsdale. The cars, which are on average almost 54 years old, were estimated at an average of USD 270,189, with estimates ranging from USD 10,000 to 5 million. 58% of the cars will go under the hammer without a reserve price.
Porsche and the rest
With eight sports cars, Porsche is the most strongly represented brand at Bonhams in Scottsdale; they are expected to fetch an average of USD 323,125 and are on average 40 years old.
They are followed by Chevrolet, Ferrari, Ford and Mercedes-Benz with four cars each. Apart from Alfa Romeo (3), Rolls-Royce (3), BMW (2) and Cadillac (2), all other 19 brands have only one car in the catalog.
The special Bugatti Chiron Super Sport
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport was neither a sports car produced in large numbers nor a particularly inexpensive one. But those who wanted something even more exclusive and expensive could specify a unique car with the "sur mesure" program. A buyer on the other side of the Atlantic did just that and the result was the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 'Éléphant Blanc' from 2024, which was modeled on the Bugatti Type 41 Royale in terms of color.
The buyer, who had the car delivered to Canada, paid USD 4,106,450 for his Bugatti with a W16 engine and over 1500 PS, which he drove 2750 miles.
Now the mid-engined super sports car is waiting for a new owner who should mentally part with USD 4.5 to 5 million.
The Ferrari 250 GT with the low roof
Also on offer is a Ferrari 250 GT from 1956, an early Granturismo car from Maranello. The coupé with chassis number 0581GT is one of the 68 cars built at Boano.
The Ferrari was restored a few years ago and now has an estimated value of USD 650,000 to 750,000.
Porsche worth USD 2.5 million
The eight Porsches on offer will all be auctioned with a reserve price.
A 356 A 1500 Speedster from 1955 (USD 440,000 to 500,000) and a late 911/930 Turbo from 1989 with only 403 miles on the clock were estimated to be the most expensive at USD 600,000 to 700,000.
Three sporty Alfa Romeos
Alfa fans should take a look at these three Milanese cars from the sixties and seventies.
On offer are a 1967 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce coupé (USD 30,000 to 40,000), a 1967 Giulia Super (USD 15,000 to 25,000) and a 1977 Alfetta GT (USD 10,000 to 20,000).
All three Alfas are being sold with no reserve price.
Four SLs
A selection of three Mercedes-Benz SL generations comes under the hammer at Bonhams.
Neither a 300 SL Roadster from 1957 nor two 280 SL / R113 Pagodas from 1967 and 1970 are missing, and there is also an early R107 in the form of a 350 SL from 1972.
Some exotics
Of course, Bonhams also has plenty of cars that you don't see at auction every other day.
Examples include a Chrysler CI-6 Sport Roadster from 1932, a Nash 1080 Special Eight Convertible Sedan from 1932 and a Pope-Hartford Model 33 50 HP Touring from 1913.
A Fisker Karma from 2012 or a Studebaker ED-6 from 1916 must surely also be counted among the rarities.
The rare cars also include a BMW-Alpina B7 Turbo/3 catalytic converter from 1987 and, of course, some typical American classics.
