Bonhams' Aston Martin auction has been a tradition for several years now. This year, it is no longer taking place at Aston Martin but on the Wormsley Estate in west London. This noble property is known for its cricket field and impressive library, among other things, and is located around 40 miles outside the capital.
32 cars and a tractor
The main items on offer are, of course, Aston Martin cars, a David Brown tractor and a Lagonda convertible. Two of the items are certainly restoration objects, but most of the vehicles are in beautiful condition.
The total value of the 33 vehicles has been estimated at around £ 7.5 million (EUR 8.7 million, CHF 9.9 million), which works out at around £ 226,000 (EUR 265,000, CHF 301,000) per lot. Only the tractor will be auctioned without a reserve price.
Relatively young offer
The average age of the vehicles is just over 37 years, which is also due to the fact that more than a third of the cars have only reached youngtimer age or are even younger.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake from 2019 is actually still a new car, but already the second car of this type to be offered at auction in 2019.
The Astons of the sixties will certainly generate a lot of interest, with two DB5 Coupés, a DB4 Convertible, a DB4 Coupé and a DB6 Vantage to choose from.
Interesting automobilia and memorabilia
Not only people who want to buy a car, but all Aston Martin enthusiasts in general should also take a look at the automobilia lots, as there are great photos of Aston vehicles with famous owners and autographs up for auction. A picture of Sean Connery in front of the DB5 with his signature will probably cost around £250 if the estimates are correct.
