Connoisseurs and friends of the Aston Martin brand had eagerly awaited the Bonhams auction in Newport. The 1960 Aston Martin DB 4 GT 'Jet' Bertone had been announced as the highlight, with an estimated price of 2.8 to 3.8 British pounds (4 to 5.4 million Swiss francs or 3.3 to 4.4 million euros), expectations were high. And they were fulfilled, as a buyer in the room paid 3.25 million pounds (3.83 million euros or 4.78 million Swiss francs) for the unique piece. It is rare to see almost the entire oeuvre of a brand being brought together for an auction, thus creating an almost comprehensive gauge of the value of the individual vehicles. This was the case in Newport on May 18, 2013. 46 Aston Martin and one Lagonda were waiting for new owners, including 4 early Astons from the post-war period, 4 DB 4, 5 DB 5, 7 DB 6, 3 DBS, 4 DB7, 10 V8 etc.
