Almost a quarter of the vehicles found new owners above expectations, with a Jaguar accident car even fetching 6.4 times its estimate. Several Aston Martin DB6s were also sold for good money and restoration projects were eagerly fought over. In total, 80 percent of the vehicles were sold for an average of around £25,000. Preview (beginning of the article)
The Bonhams MPH auctions in Bicester not only attract super classics, but also restoration projects and cars that would normally be found in the backyard of garages. This was also the case on May 22, 2021, when 90 vehicles (including a caravan) went under the hammer in front of the public and online. Most of the vehicles could be driven up and were briefly presented to whet the appetite of prospective buyers. A total of 40 brands were represented in the MPH auction, with Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ford, Jaguar and Triumph offering the largest contingents, while more exotic brands such as Alvis, Humber, Lagonda, Simplex, Sunbeam and Willys were mostly single-owner vehicles.
