In just a few days, on Sunday, August 18, 2013, they will once again thunder up the short mountain in the canton of Lucerne, the touring, GT, sports and racing cars of yesteryear. In 2012, the Altbüron hill climb took a break, but in 2013 it is back in full force and the field of participants is more than just impressive.
Le Mans original cars
Almost 20 sports cars that have competed in Le Mans over the last 50 years or so can be seen in Altbüron. Most of them will even let their engines be heard, with only three Sauber cars and the Rebellion racing car from 2012 reserved for the exhibition. So there will be several Sauber sports cars on display, a selection of Porsches, two Corvettes, an Alfa Romeo, an Inaltera, an Abarth, a Gebhardt and four Cheetahs. They all had the Hunaudières under their tires and will now touch the asphalt of Altbüron.
Rarities
But there are also some rarities in the rest of the field that are rarely seen. A Martini-BMW, for example, the Borghi Coupé Diablerets, a Ginetta G12, a Lister-Jaguar Knobbly, a Bugatti T59, a Lotus Elan 26R, an Enzmann 506 ... you could go on and on. Instead, we will simply list the entire entry list here, as far as it is known.
The best thing to do is simply drive to Altbüron on Sunday and enjoy over 200 cars and motorcycles in full swing for a reasonable price (admission CHF 13.-, program booklet CHF 3.-).
